Sponsorship activation – our partnership with SMI

SMI (Sports Media International) is a specialist sponsorship agency working on an international basis with rights-holders and commercial companies. SMI helps rights holders package and sell sponsorships, and it helps commercial companies to source and activate sponsorships on a global scale.

Citroen Racing. The most successful World Rally Championship team of this decade.

Citroen Racing. The most successful World Rally Championship team of this decade.

Wild West has worked with SMI on a number of projects (and indeed designed and produced the SMI website!).

On the commercial front, SMI has been working with Citroen Racing since 2002, promoting its proposition to the commercial world. Citroen is the most successful World Rally Championship team this decade and sponsorship opportunities there are valuable properties. After all, Citroen uses its own involvement in WRC to promote and enrich its own brand on an international basis, and if it works for them, then it can also work for commercial sponsors too.

The joy of sponsorship is that it enables brands to gain traction on an international scale, achieving results that might be impossibly expensive on a country by country basis. Citroen’s unique record of success is also extremely valuable and can give brands almost instant status.

The Stock Sea Breeze – Perfect

The Stock Sea Breeze. Just one of the great cocktail recipes on the Stock Spirits site, designed by Wild West

The Stock Sea Breeze. Just one of the great cocktail recipes on the Stock Spirits site, designed by Wild West

The sun’s coming out again after what seems like an interminable winter. So maybe this weekend might be the ideal time to dust off a cocktail recipe or two?

This ‘Sea Breeze’ could be perfect, and you can find the recipe on the website of  the Stock Spirits group at www.stockspirits.com

Stock Spirits are the leading manufacturers of branded spirits in central and eastern Europe, though with their headquarters in the UK.

The group’s excellent products sell throughout central and eastern Europe and are becoming prominent in the US too. (Wild West built all their corporate sites – including dual- and tri-language sites for some countries).

The only problem is that the Group’s products are hard to find in the UK. So a proper cocktail like this one – with Stock’s premium Czysta de Luxe vodka as its base – could be a difficult proposition.

Best to make a note, and the next time you are travelling in Poland or Slovenia, pick up a bottle of this crystal-pure spirit. And then all of your sea breezes will be as crisp and refreshing as they can be.

New Year, and already, lots of new sites

Just in case you wanted to know more about WildWest Design’s current work on websites (of many types and descriptions), all of this list are new already for this year.

www.satyacapital.com
www.barclaysfootball.com (that’s the Around the World in 90 Minutes competition site)
www.clearlybusiness.com
www.resoluteassetmanagement.com

On top of that, we’re working on makeovers to www.indicusadvisors.com and the UK’s Number One site for contractors and those founding limited companies, www.carringtonaccountancy.com

We’re proud of our finance and investment track record, which covers companies in private equity and property as well as those listed here.

If you feel that your website could be doing more for you (whether as a showcase, or to keep investors, stakeholders  and journalists better informed, or both), please do get in touch!

Barclays Spaces for Sports Wins New Global Award

Barclays' Award-winning CSR programme Spaces for Sport

Barclays' Award-winning CSR programme Spaces for Sport

Barclays Spaces for Sports has won a Sport Business award at the Global Sports Forum in Barcelona.

Since  its launch in the UK in 2004 with partners the Football Foundation and Groundwork, Barclays Spaces for Sports has created 200 sports sites in disadvantaged areas across the UK benefiting half a million people. In 2008 it was extended globally with further sites and projects already established in South Africa, the United States, the UK, Spain and Zambia.  Barclays is also working with charity Compassion for Migrant Children in China to benefit a migrant community in Beijing.

The programme has already won Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year at last year’s Peace and Sport Awards in Monaco. It has previously been recognised with a number of UK awards, including the BUPA Healthy Community Award at the Business in the Community (BITC) Awards of Excellence in 2007, Best Grass Roots Sports Sponsorship at the Hollis Sponsorship Awards 2007 and the Sport England Community Programme Award at the Sport Industry Awards 2007.

Barclays has committed more than £37 million to Barclays Spaces for Sports since its inception. WildWest has played a very small part in the success of the programme, designing promotional literature and reports for Barclays Spaces for Sports.

Indicus Advisors – New Look, New Outlook

Our finance and investment clients have been busy this month. Indicus Advisors have just implemented their ‘refreshed’ new logo and should be going live with their new website design very shortly. Meanwhile, Resolute Asset Management and Peace Dividend (a company investing in Yemen) are the latest companies in this sector to add to the WildWest client list.

Indicus, whose business is in the white hot territory of the finance markets, think they may just be over the leap they have had to make from the old assumptions to the new. So maybe the recovery actually is on the way.

More on all of these developments very soon.

If they do a good job, stick with ‘em

Sometimes, it's worthwhile looking at a fresh idea. Especially when your existing supplier may have got complacent.

If your current suppliers are doing a good job (and you are sure that they are!), then stick with them. But it’s important too, to know when the time is right to change, and that point often comes when you don’t get the new ideas and the enthusiastic input that used to happen all the time.

We battle hard against complacency, against assuming that our clients will always, automatically, return to us. Over the years, that philosophy seems to have worked – we have client relationships that go back ten and more years.

Of course, in order to do this, we have to ride waves of technology change – something which can also throw a spanner in the works. But overall, our goal is always to have everything we present as fresh and exciting as day one.

If you did think that now is the time to change your design agency, (or indeed to hire your first), we’d love to hear from you. You’ll find here and in our credentials document many examples of the work we do. If you like it, get in touch. We may be able to do even better work for you.

P&I – Just to say, ‘We do speak your language’

The Wild-West designed web site for the International Group of P&I Clubs

The Wild-West designed web site for the International Group of P&I Clubs

Marine insurance can be a difficult field to understand, but over the years, we’ve worked for two important organisations in this specialist world – The Standard P&I Club and the International Group of P&I Clubs, the trade body for the P&I industry.

During that time, we’ve produced web and electronic resources, packaged DVD’s and training aids, produced news magazines, technical bulletins and annual reports, and designed the IGP&I logo.

We’d love to use our expertise more extensively. So, if you represent a company or organisation in shipping, marine insurance or another related field, why not get in touch?

You can see the IGP&I website at www.igpandi.org or visit the Standard Club at www.standard-club.com
