Financial Deal Reports – Now for Silverfleet

Silverfleet Capital successfully exits Histoire d'Or: the subject of their most recent deal report.

Silverfleet Capital successfully exits Histoire d'Or: the subject of their most recent deal report.

Deal reports are part of the essential landscape of investment companies – a key part of the communications landscape. They are essentially simple documents that keep shareholders, investors, the press, analysts and others in the loop with what a company does and how it is succeeding.

As such, they need to be well-designed, clear and factual, and of course, accurate too!

Silverfleet is a new addition to our client list. We’re very pleased to be working on research reports, web site, and branding projects for them, and of course, we are designing and producing their deal reports too.

This deal report on French jewellery company Histoire d’Or is produced in three languages – French, German and English, reflecting the European basis of the Silverfleet company and its investment portfolio.

Source Foods

Counter graphics for Source Foods

Counter graphics for Source Foods

Source has the gift of getting food into people’s hands quickly, as regular lunchtime customers of its Richmond and Chiswick Park outlets will tell you. And not just the standard sandwich and chocolate bar either. Source provides good food at reasonable prices and its curries, sushi, salads, soup and their famous daily hot lunchbox are always great value and always served fast, when time is at a premium.

Now, Wild West is helping Source to refine its image and improve its signage too. Our first project for the company was to install a new counter graphic at the Source outlet in Richmond, which you can see in the picture.

Source also run in-office catering facilities and, as well as opening new branches in the near future, see this as another attractive opportunity.

We’re looking forward to lots more meetings with our new clients, preferably at lunch-time!

Great design – It all adds up

No matter whether you are a start-up operation just beginning to make your mark on the business world, or an established company with a brand to protect and enhance, the way you look is important.

And it’s not so good when your website (for example) looks great, but your corporate stationery looks second class. Or your product literature is great, but you’re let down by an outbound email. High quality is important and consistent quality more important still.

At WildWest Design, we’re proud to provide that consistency of approach. Because we’re not the largest of design companies, we have to be incredibly thorough about detail, (as well as providing the inspiration in terms of the big picture), because getting things right – from a business card or a powerpoint presentation to a corporate display or a product launch – really does matter. It means business for our clients, and it means business for us too.

Hatton Grange (see the story directly below) are the latest new company to launch with a new identity, new stationery and new website – all designed by WildWest. They join a growing list of companies working with WildWest, either for specific projects or on the basis of regular and frequent needs. You’ll find that list to the right of this story. Scroll down to the ‘Contacts’ section.

In total contrast to this project was our work for central Europe’s largest manufacturer of branded spirits. Stock Spirits neeed to document and control the use of their brand mark over different territories, and to ensure a consistency of approach in terms of corporate websites wherever their products are sold. WildWest designed and implemented a set of ten websites, many with two and three language versions.

Reinforcing brand consistency on an international basis - Branding defined and guided for Stock Spirits, Central Europe's largest producer of branded spirits

Different companies have different requirements, but our award-winning service can be important whether you have specific design needs, or you are concerned to have a service that will reinforce your product and service quality wherever you are visible.

Sometimes, it doesn’t hurt to state the obvious

We’ve been sending out some postcards and emailers recently. Like this one…

Stating the obvious. Are your design people really up to speed?

Our point, to put it bluntly, is that sometimes design companies get a little too comfortable with their clients.

Perhaps they don’t go the extra mile with a new proposal. Perhaps they don’t always search for the best value. Perhaps their creativity isn’t all that it should be, if only because they’ve done it so many times before.

At Wild West, we know that we’re as prone to these issues as anyone else, and so we work doubly hard to keep things fresh, our standards high, and offer the best value for money we can.

But, just like a country sometimes needs a new government, sometimes a company needs a new design partner. And when they do, we’re here.

What you get with Wild West is a small, dedicated team, with design, programming and copy skills all in-house. You’ll see lots of our work throughout this blog, or go to our main site and download our credentials document.

If you like what you see, then maybe you should think about getting in touch? You’ll find us professional, friendly and very keen to do a great job for you.

Stock Spirits – Award-winner expands

Stock Spirits, the internationally-focused manufacturer of branded drinks, now has a set of 10 websites, including national sites covering all their existing and new sales territories.

Orzel vodka. Stock's flagship brand in the USA

Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, USA, are all national areas covered by the set of Wild West-designed and implemented web sites. And then there are sites dedicated to the work of Stock Spirits Group, and International Sales.

For a company that has only existed for a few years, they have come a long way in a very short time.

What is possibly more remarkable is that Stock are able to maintain and update all their sites through an implementation of ModX open-source software. The software allows Stock staff in the UK and in the international territories to amend their sites as they need, adding press releases, posting new packaging or bottle shots, and of course, adding to the range of Stock cocktail recipes which are suggested throughout the Stock Spirits group site. Since all of the national sites are provided in two, and sometimes three, languages maintenance would otherwise have been a big task.

Wild West undertakes periodic ‘refresher’ training to help get new staff up to speed and to ensure that all staff who need to have up to date skills.

Tectura Show ‘Real-World’ Expertise

Tectura UK, whose business is implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications, principally built around Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics AX, have implemented a new specialist press advertising campaign through Wild West design.

The first of Tectura's new press ads

The first of Tectura's new press ads

The campaign features two very different clients of Tectura UK, Poupart and Amcol.

Poupart deliver fresh produce to the UK’s supermarkets, and, as the ad copy states, ‘they are masters of a tight and dynamic supply chain, where delays cost money, as well as reputations.’

Amcol’s business is built around the extraction of natural resources, and then processing them in readiness for their use in products as diverse as nappies and lubricants.

Both creative executions stress the very practical advantages that the Tectura applications are bringing to both companies – tracking and traceability in the case of Poupart, moving to one integrated system across multiple locations in the case of Amcol.  In both instances, the new business systems were built around Microsoft Dynamics NAV software, for which Tectura is a Gold-certified partner.

Tectura have a very strong yet adaptable corporate look and feel and both of the press ads created by Wild West have been implemented within that framework. Wild West, who have a track record in working with hi-tech companes, wrote the copy for the ads and for a complementary set of internet banners.

Chelsea Champions

The final day of the Barclays Premier League and Chelsea deservedly become champions.

It’s a busy time for Wild West, because we have to be ready for what might happen on the final day of the season, as well as what actually does happen.

So when – like yesterday – the issue is in doubt, we have a lot of shipments to be made.

And we’re not just congratulating the champions. Runners-up Manchester United get their kit of banners and flags and so too, do Arsenal and Tottenham, who will be England’s other representatives in the Champions League next season.

PFA Awards Branded ‘Barclays’ by Wild West

Each year, Wild West (as part of its work for Barclays) puts a complete set of display equipment into some rather nice large hotels in order to cement awareness of Barclays’ status as the sponsoring company of the Premier League in England.

The PFA Awards Dinner is one of these events.

The dinner is an essential part of the end-of-season celebrations, and is held just before the winners of the Premier League trophy can be known for certain.

The awards themselves, which have been won in the past by Kevin Keegan, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham, are particularly prized by the winners, because they are awarded on the basis of votes amongst the players’ fellow professionals.

This year (2010) Awards were given to Wayne Rooney (Player of the Year), James Milner (Young Player of the Year) and Lucas Radebe (Special Award).

In this World Cup Year, to be hosted in South Africa, it seems particularly appropriate that Lucas Radebe has been honoured with an award. A South African, he has for many years rendered stalwart services to his English club, Leeds United, before injury forced him to give up the game.

Guide to Shipping Yachts from the Standard Club

The Standard P&I Club, which seems to have become aware that such disasters are not so few and far between as one might think, has published a new and very common sense Guide to the Carriage of Oversized Cargo — Yachts…  in this useful booklet there is a sad and tragic illustration of two

Design of this guide was of course by Wild West. We have worked on the design and production of publications for the Standard Club for many years, giving us a lot of knowledge of the shipping and marine insurance market.

Barclays Spaces for Sports – Getting Support from the Fans

Spaces for Sport in the Arsenal matchday programme

Spaces for Sport in the Arsenal matchday programme

Barclays Spaces for Sports is an award-winning and international programme aimed at giving young people from deprived areas the opportunity to play sport.

It is the focus of the overall Barclays corporate social responsibility programme and operates in the UK and Ireland, South Africa and the USA.

In the UK, the programme operates in conjunction with the Football Foundation and runs alongside the Barclays commercial sponsorship of the English Premier League.

Now, Barclays have asked Wild West to put together a series of advertising feature pages, each one directed specifically to the work that Barclays and the Football Foundation are doing with each of the clubs in the Premier League, and highlighting the achievements of this remarkable initiative – which not only creates the areas for sports of different kinds, but also gives constructive assistance to community groups, helping them to get into a routine of managing and maximising the use of the space.

Barclays Spaces for Sports in Liverpool

Barclays Spaces for Sport in Liverpool

Barclays Spaces for Sports are already up and running in the neighbourhood of each and every Premier League side and in many other areas too. But Premier League sides, and the Football Foundation too, are also taking a hand in helping to establish the credentials of these new facilities and playing an important role in attracting local publicity for what Spaces for Sports can offer.

Everyone involved hopes that these new facilities will become etched into the fabric of their local communities, providing a focus and an outlet for kids who otherwise might be attracted to gangs and crime. So, in many important ways, Barclays Spaces for Sports is helping to revitalise areas where problems of various kinds have been in evidence, and helping to get lives back on track by encouraging individuals to develop their sporting skills.

Who knows? Barclays Spaces for Sports may provide an important platform for British success in our very own Olympics in 2012. And Wild West is very pleased to be involved in this important initiative.
