Great design – It all adds up

No matter whether you are a start-up operation just beginning to make your mark on the business world, or an established company with a brand to protect and enhance, the way you look is important.

And it’s not so good when your website (for example) looks great, but your corporate stationery looks second class. Or your product literature is great, but you’re let down by an outbound email. High quality is important and consistent quality more important still.

At WildWest Design, we’re proud to provide that consistency of approach. Because we’re not the largest of design companies, we have to be incredibly thorough about detail, (as well as providing the inspiration in terms of the big picture), because getting things right – from a business card or a powerpoint presentation to a corporate display or a product launch – really does matter. It means business for our clients, and it means business for us too.

In total contrast to this project was our work for central Europe’s largest manufacturer of branded spirits. Stock Spirits neeed to document and control the use of their brand mark over different territories, and to ensure a consistency of approach in terms of corporate websites wherever their products are sold. WildWest designed and implemented a set of ten websites, many with two and three language versions.

Different companies have different requirements, but our award-winning service can be important whether you have specific design needs, or you are concerned to have a service that will reinforce your product and service quality wherever you are visible.

Inflexion – Buyout House of the Year

Inflexion Private Equity (a Wild West client for many years, ever since we designed their new logo) have triumphed at The Private Equity Awards, hosted by the BVCA (the British Venture Capital Association) and Real Deals, being named Buyout House of the Year.

The judges praised Inflexion for its outstanding performance in what was a challenging year for the private equity industry.

Key achievements included the market beating returns on the exit of Viking Moorings, the ability to raise a co-investment fund and securing new investments in exciting growth businesses.

Winning against prestigious competition, including HgCapital, LDC and Charterhouse, the judges said their decision was unanimous.

Revamped web site for Carrington Accountancy

We’re quite often called upon to revitalise web sites after a while. After all, things change, successful companies want to add new facilities, and adding social networking links is getting more and more common. It’s not so often though, that within a year, we’re asked for a completely revised site, with a whole new look.

Such has been the development of the Carrington Accountancy business, that we’ve had to do just that.
Carrington offer accounting services, with particular emphasis on working with new companies, with individual contractors and the self-employed.

So if you are in one of those groups, or you just need accounting (or investment) advice, start by going to www.carringtonaccountancy.com

Becoming experts in MS Sharepoint!

Well, anyone who knows us will know that we like open source software, but now we have a very big job ahead, made even bigger by the fact that they need to use MS Sharepoint 2010 for the web design and the application development behind it. Made even bigger by the fact that the software hasn’t all been released yet!

Where do you watch the Barclays Premier?

The Barclays Around the World Competition site

The Barclays Around the World Competition site

Just tell Barclays, and you could win a really great day in the UK!

With the Barclays Premier League being watched in more places every day, Barclays wanted to promote their involvement with the beautiful game by giving fans from around the world the chance to show us all where and how they watch the action from the Barclays Premier League.

In return, there’s a really great prize of a trip to the UK, with (of course) tickets to a match at the winner’s favourite ground.

What do you have to do to win? Simple, just use the site to explain where, when and how you watch your favourite team. You can upload video, audio, photography or just write  a paragraph about it. The winner will be the most unusual and interesting story that’s posted to the site before the end of the promotion.

The Barclays ‘Around the World in Ninety Minutes’ website shows how companies can interact through the web – this is quite a lighthearted application, but it doesn’t take too much thought to show how this interactivity could have more serious uses. You could collect views and opinions of customers for example, or find out what employees around the world think about your company. Views can be made public or kept private and available only to certain individuals.

The new website for ClearlyBusiness will be a focus for future expansion

ClearlyBusiness is a company that was inspired by a number of good ideas. Getting important and market-leading products and services into the hands of small and medium enterprises, through trusted intermediaries was just one of them.

Now, the company’s ground-breaking (and multi award-winning!) ideas are helping to establish it abroad as well as in the UK. More suppliers are interested in having their products distributed, and potential routes to market are opening up as others see the value of this distinct delivery channel.

ClearlyBusiness already works with a number of very recognisable companies including ABN-Amro, Absa, Barclays, Intuit, Sage, Experian, Iron Mountain and Dunn and Bradstreet. The company expects that list to grow over the coming months, especially as their new web site (designed by Wild West) is now on line. (Go to www.clearlybusiness.com)

You’ll see there some of the important business accolades the company has already received – among them National Business and Financial Innovation awards. Clearly Business is also one of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500.

Now the company’s new website is showcasing its services in a manner that reflects the quality and imagination powering its growth in Britain and beyond.

Satya are an investment company, targeting opportunities in Africa

Satya Capital, the private equity group which focuses exclusively on Africa, has chosen Hygeia for its first significant investment in healthcare in the continent.

Satya, whose Wild West designed website went live in 2009, is one of a new breed of specialist investors, determined to use their capital to develop the potential of this vast continent.

Satya, founded through the efforts of African entrepreneur Mo Ibrahim, is making an equity investment of $18 million, alongside a total of $8 million in new debt facilities from other sources, to allow Hygeia to expand both its hospital group (Lagoon Hospitals), and its health maintenance organisation (Hygeia HMO). These investments join the existing debt and equity provided by IFC and the Investment Fund for Health in Africa (IFHA) respectively.
